The department of English plays a significant role in promoting language proficiency, literary appreciation, critical thinking and ethical values among students.The department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes designed to expose learners to British, American, Indian and world literatures, along with language studies, communication skills and contemporary critical theories. The department adopts a learner- centred, inclusive and outcome-based pedagogical approach. It encourages students to read literature beyond boundaries, explore diverse cultures, respond sensitively to social realities. Skill enhancement, employability, research orientation and holistic development remain core priorities of the department. The Postgraduate Department of English, established in 2020 is a vibrant academic space committed to fostering critical thinking, creative expression, and a deep engagement with literature and culture. The department offers a dynamic curriculum that spans classical and contemporary literatures, literary theory, cultural studies, and interdisciplinary approaches, enabling students to develop both analytical precision and imaginative insight.
